The recording space
The studio is a space where you can come in and be creative straight away. It is a relaxing environment that has several areas dedicated to vocal recording, drum recording, guitar tracking and a synth station.
The control room
Here is the heart of the studio. It’s where everyone gathers to be creative, to share ideas and to bring that idea to life. We have created a space that allows you to do that. With plenty of seating and space, you and your band can all be part of the process.
Space for the team
A comfortable space the entire team to be creative without being cramped into a small area.

Guitar Tracking
A fender deluxe amp and a bass amp is available to track your important guitar takes to give that warm big sound you might be looking for on your next project. Mic placement and selection are another two important factors when recording guitars and at the studio, we have a range of these available to you to suit your project.
Vocal Tracking
Recording your vocal is one of the most important parts of the recording process. To do that, we have two top of the range microphones available. A Neumann TLM 103 and a UA Sphere LX.
The TLM 103 is a large diaphragm microphone with crystal clear audio and the Sphere is a modelling microphone made by Universal Audio. it can model a range of microphones to give different character and sound based on what type of vocal sound you want.
Preamps - The heartbeat of the studio
Everything comes down to the preamps. The part of the signal chain where the magic happens. This can be the difference between a good recording or a great one!
At J14, we have 24 channels of inputs. 8 of these are through a UA Apollo 8xP. 8 preamps that can emulate a Neve recording console and give that warmth and detail needed for your project. This can be done for drums, vocals, guitars and voiceovers.
On top of that, we have 8 channels from a MOTU 8pre and 8 additional channels from a Focusrite 18i20.
